Advanced Security Systems Supports Local Breast Cancer Organizations

This October, as communities nationwide unite for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Advanced Security Systems proudly stands alongside survivors, families, and advocates who inspire hope and healing every day. The locally owned security company has launched a new annual giving tradition to support North Coast organizations that provide essential care, education, and encouragement to those affected by breast cancer.

The initiative began close to home, with a heartfelt donation to the Eureka Police Department in support of its fundraiser for the Breast & GYN Health Project. Since 1989, breast cancer death rates in the U.S. have dropped by 44%, thanks to early detection, better treatments, and the tireless dedication of organizations like the Breast & GYN Health Project. Founded by survivors for survivors, the nonprofit provides free patient navigation, support groups, and a compassionate helpline, ensuring no one faces a diagnosis alone. Contributions like those from the Eureka Police Department and Advanced Security Systems help sustain these critical programs and extend their reach. That spirit of service extended to Lake County, where Advanced Security Systems contributed to Adventist Health’s Team Hope and their participation in Sponsoring Survivorship’s annual Walk/Run fundraiser. Sponsoring Survivorship began nearly 30 years ago as a promise between two friends, Julie Kelley and Shirley Crawford, and has grown into a county-wide movement that has provided financial and emotional support to more than 200 breast cancer survivors. “For decades, these organizations have been lifelines for families navigating breast cancer,” said Chuck Petrusha, CEO of Advanced Security Systems. “We’re honored to support their missions and continue our company’s legacy of giving back- not only by protecting our communities through security, but by uplifting them through service and awareness.”

In Crescent City, Advanced Security Systems supported Soroptimist International’s Bras for a Cause, an October 18 event that transformed creativity into compassion. The fundraiser provides local residents with vital education, resources, and direct assistance in their fight against breast cancer, while also celebrating survivors and honoring those affected by the disease. The event brought together community members, local organizations, and volunteers to raise awareness and foster a spirit of hope and solidarity.

Throughout October, Advanced Security Systems employees demonstrated their commitment by wearing pink-branded shirts every Friday, uniting teams across Eureka, Crescent City, Clearlake Oaks, and Santa Rosa. Their efforts served as a visible reminder that breast cancer awareness is about more than one month- it’s about community, compassion, and early detection that saves lives. By participating in local events and supporting meaningful causes, Advanced Security Systems continues to reinforce its dedication to the communities it serves.
