Eureka Police Department officers arrested a Eureka man late Saturday after responding to a burglary alarm at a home on the 1200 block of L Street.

Officers formed a perimeter around the residence and summoned a K-9 unit to the scene shortly after 9:15 p.m., according to a press release, after hearing movement inside the home and a seeing a broken window. The suspect ran out the front door when the K-9 officer demanded he exit the back door, and a brief foot pursuit ended outside the front of the house a short time later.
